Privacy notice

Wishlist Safari is operated by Jean Smyth, based in Cape Town, South Africa. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies, the EU and UK GDPR.

What we collect

When you send a wishlist enquiry: your name, email address, where you live, number of travellers, timing, budget, your species wishlist and any notes you add. When a lodge contacts us about partnering: contact and business details. We do not collect payment details on this site.

Why we use it

• To match your wishlist to suitable places and plan your trip.
• To pass your enquiry to a safari specialist so they can prepare an itinerary, with your consent.
• To track referrals, so partner camps and specialists know you came through us.

Who we share it with

Only the safari specialist or camp handling your enquiry, and the service that hosts our website and forms. We never sell your information.

How long we keep it

For as long as needed to plan and complete your trip, and up to three years afterwards for referral records, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent, at any time by emailing hello@wishlistsafari.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Browser storage

The planner remembers your wishlist in your own browser so it is still there when you return. We do not use advertising cookies.
